| On 21 November Australia passed the final stage of their plain packaging laws for tobacco. From December 2012 all tobacco products in Australia will be sold in unbranded olive green packs.

On 23 July 2012 tobacco displays will be banned in
As well as banning display of tobacco products there will be changes to the amounts for maximum fines that can be set by the Courts, and an introduction of on the spot fines for breaches of the Smoke-free Environments Act.
Retail or trading names that include references to tobacco will also not be permitted.
