Research on tobacco retail density at schools

ASH is currently collaborating with researchers from the University of Otago to look at the impact of tobacco retail density on smoking behaviour among 14-15 year old Year 10 students in New Zealand. This research will help highlight the impact of having tobacco retailers within easy walking distance of schools where young children spend most of their time, and how this affects their attitude and behaviour towards smoking and tobacco use. The findings will be published by the end of 2015.
